NOAH is pleased to offer laparoscopy, a minimally invasive type of surgery, for many types of surgical procedures, including:
A laparoscope consists of a telescoping rod and lens system connected to a video camera and light. The surgeon inserts the laparoscope into the patient through a tiny incision in the abdomen. Carbon dioxide is then used to inflate the abdomen and give the surgeon space to work. Additional attachments, such as retractors, scissors, and cautery devices are used to complete the surgery.
Laparoscopic surgery benefits your pet in many ways. Laparoscopy requires a smaller incision, which improves your pet’s recovery period, can shorten his or her hospital stay and, most importantly, cause 65% less pain.
Our veterinarians will discuss laparoscope surgery in greater detail with you should your pet need surgery.
